  Bill Bowen's Use of "Fake Precision"

  the fake precision fallacy involves making a claim with a mathematical precision that is impossible to obtain.. he does this on his site where he starts with an alleged and unsupported figure that the watchtower has a file of some 23,000 child molesters and runs that figure up to the point where it becomes absolutely absurd.

  his purpose is to persuade readers that jehovah's witnesses are a hot bed of child molestation.

  the problem is that he starts with at best very dubious sources and then he takes this data and treats it as if it is precise and factual.. it is not unusual for many of us to use a frivolous "false precision" in making statements.

  I haven't finish reading the posts; I only read the first page, so I may be sticking my foot on my mouth by what I'm going to say:

  I still have doubts about jerome's style... he seems to follow the same pattern on this board with some posters: kind of sticking up for the free world the exJW experiences and on the other hand, he sticks out for the ones who defends the WT. Also, he seems to enjoy when one posts this kind of threads (like Hilda's on other threads)and he likes to feed them big time giving all kinds of suggestions, but never definnig what his real intentions are. It is kind of weird and I don't think I can explain myself about this. Sorry and if someone here feels the same way and can explain it better, please do so, if you wish... I'm kind of timid here... but I couldn't stay quiet...

  i sent it to kent.

  the only thing that kept me going was the thought of what my suicide would do to my children for the rest of their lives.

  i finally got the courage to seek help for that depression, and im fine now.. alanf and gedanken (two of my good friends) helped me out, and i am most grateful for that.

  Oh, well, I guess I missed it all at H2O, but I'm here learning so much... mostly, like you said, finding true friends on this board.   BREAKING MY SILENCE EVERYONE READ!!!

  as ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.

  this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.

  therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.

  well we got the phone call from the elder to let us know of the decision to disfellowship us.

  the one elder called while the other sat on the phone as a "witness".

  the second elder was once a close friend.

They help me a lot... how many mistakes I have avoided to commit against my JW daughter thanks to you, God only knows, thanks for been outspoken here on this forum... even the ones I missed and I won't look from Teejay, the past is past, :-) Love,

  I was Wished a Happy B-Day by a JW!!!

  I'm surprissed of her inablility to communicate with you: she does not get it, eh? Should I imagine she is not a true JW? I mean, like the ones that naively believed everything told? I have an aunt who is a JW and acts like her. I feel for you and I'm truly sorry for the lack of understanding between the two of you. Love,

  CARDINAL LAW TO TESTIFY

  just in from fox news, cardinal law is being forced to testify in court in the charges against the arch diocese.

  he must appear on wednesday, may 8th.
